Sheep- Grazing quietly (Blog #5)

People are sheep:

Since time immemorial, people have been talking about politics, their greed, their dishonesty, their unrealistic perks including pensions, and with each administration starting at local County, City and State levels, the stealing and selling of one’s office continues.

Oh yes, we Bitch and moan, we send emails, sometimes even letters but by and large the little noise we make amounts to nothing. Lobbying is another form of enticement for those who enter public life with their hands out.

We are the sheep being led by the herders. Our actions are not effective because in reality, other than the little noise we make ,we do nothing. Besides, we are ashamed because we voted for these people.

To be sure, they are NOT all thieves.. I know some I believe to be honest and my respect for them has grown over the years. The temptation must be great.
We have those in governing bodies like the U.S Senate, and Congress who almost openly defy their constituents to challenge them. They are actually brazen. Take the Speaker of the House, private plane and pilot, flights back to California whenever she wishes for God only knows who. Wonder how many families could live on what she costs the U.S taxpayer each year ? When she retires she will receive over $200,000 a year for life. All this in the face of the worst recession since the great depression of 1929. I did not mean to single Madam Pelosi out, she has many associates who “live it up” at the taxpayers expense.

So, my fellow Sheep, how long will we be content to graze quietly in the pasture?
And if we should decide to stop grazing and start biting, when and how do we start?

We are supposed to be a government run by the people, for the people. Neither is the case any longer. It is run by politicians for the benefit of Politicians.

We need a complete house cleaning. We need to revert to the words of the Constitution and abide by them. We need to jail the thieves and be more aware of who we vote for.

The Deficit Reduction Party proposes to bring government back to the people. We will not tolerate elected officials who have an open door policy for Lobbyists only to find out what they must give to determine how much they can get.
